Reece is doing mandarin and taragon and caramalised white chocolate and miso parfait
He is also doing a granita...mixing fresh and heavy flavours. concentrating on texture

Jess is making basil and a liquorice dark chocolate
In a way this is hers to lose.
She doesn't like liquorice but thinks it is okay with chocolate

Andy says he can eat a litre of ice cream in a sitting
It is his guilty pleasure unlike cake "which he doesn't like" but we all know he will down the biggest piece in a flash.

Beetroot and aniseed myrtle and Tamarind from Tessa.. she knows her flavours and what goes with what she assures Andy

Laura has wattleseed and fig ice creams
Brendan's ice creams are the same colour. White chocolate wasabi and a parsnip one.........blah

Simon is struggling...... it just doesn't seem right to him... he calls it a flavour block like a writers block. molasses and peach icecream..............blach.. what a thing to do to peaches

Sarah has a corn ice cream and a miso one. She isn't a fan of icecream but enjoys making it..

They have to pick a pair and use it in any sort of dish and hero the flavour pair. Open Pantry and Garden 60 minutes.

Callum is mustard & Mint as is Poh.
Poh is doing a pasta dish. Targetting Jock's Italian heartstrings.

jess is doing carrot & raspberry and doing a mulled wine type dessert.
Raspberry Sorbet is a main element....not what I w ould enjjoy.. but I hate raspberries too

Simon is doing the lamb & coffee. For a vegie lover he is going for the coffee option cos he loves it.. he prefers to eat vegies but can cook meat...
Jock confused how the coffee will fit with the lamb in Simon's dish. meat sauce coffee.... a cracker w ill turn to mush

Callum is doing Mustard roasted Cauliflower. He is going for taste rather than looks. He has made this before for his wife who loves it...

Jess is making spheres (little bubbles). It is a carrot jelly from what i can figure.
Definitely spheres says Jock...... carrot spheres... totally confusing..

Brendan's is a poached chicken called Bang Bang( Pang Pang) Chicken. Andy is telling him he is being safe. careful brendan......

Pohs Pasta has pumpkin and biscuits in it and for once she is ahead of time and feeling a bit weird.

Jess still has to make the cremoux but doesn't have a lot of time, She is multitasking to the max.

Back to Simon and how he is going to use his coffee. Changed his ideas. adding a roast coffee glazed butter Jock reminding him about the flavours being front and centre. he then decides on a coffee crumb

Jess's sorbet is really vibrant.. The bubble process is interesting to say the least. I can't really describe it. right now it looks like egg yolk in water!

I have a bad feeling Simon might be going home
He or Brendan, but I can't figure out how Poh's pasta is heroing the main ingredients either.

Mustard Roasted Cauliflower. It looks lovely. Has a Dhal Mustard Butter and Mint. a chutney
Plates are empty. Nothing is overpowering. Best food he has cooked is the comments for Callum.

Simon's dish. Lamb with with a coffee sauce and a coffee crumble.
Lamb cooked perfectly. Coffee crumb was overpowering. Coffee didn't work in the meal but they could taste it through out.

Brendan's Bang Bang Chicken with a peanut butter satay sauce.
Andy forgot he was a judge for a minute. Peanuts and Basil front and centre says Jock
looks like it will be Simon ... only one they really has an issue with I think

Again I have the complaint that they are supposed to hero the main ingredients. I can't see that Pumpkin Pasta heroes the mustard and mint no matter how good the dish tastes and how harmonious they all are together. Either they are the hero or they are just present in the dish.
If Simon wasn't trying to make the coffee hero so much rather than just be harmonious he may not be the one at the bottom.
That's my 2 cents this episode.
Mustard and mint are there but harmonious.

Jock hopes that Jess's dish is as good as it looks.
