My opinion based on various Australian news account stories.
I think it's a big blow job. Some Aussie ISPs will be doing nothing. Great thing about the piracy law, it requires the copyright holder to pay the ISPs for each blocked pirate website and their associated websites. This can get expensive for the copyright holders. Especially when some of the copyright holders based in the US. There is a tax bill under consideration and expenses for payment of the blocked pirate websites won't be deductible under the new tax law. I've read that many Aussie pirate users have already gone to VPN services. This just shoots the Aussie law into oblivion.
To me, the copyright holders have their heads up their arses. If they get rid of the hoops for a Aussie viewer, they could make money.
Yes, in certain cases, I use a pirate website. For certain programs, I even have a VPN service.
In the long run, the Aussie law will fail.
